Yokohama Chinatown

A day in Yokohama Chinatown: red glow, dense streets, symbols. Signage, thresholds, and compressed space. 2024.

Yokohama Chinatown

Gates & details

Between the main streets, the district shows its structure: gates, corners, textures, and fragments of ritual.
What matters here isn’t “exoticism”, but how a place builds an atmosphere through symbols and repetition.

Streets & lanterns

At night, everything turns into surface: red glow, reflective menus, neon edges.
I kept the frames simple—front-facing signs, repeated patterns, and small pauses inside the crowd.
