Josefov Old Jewish Cemetery
A quiet enclosure in Josefov where centuries compress into stone: moss, inscriptions, winter light, and restraint. Prague, 2023.

Burials took place here from the 15th century until 1787. Space was scarce, so graves were layered over time—one reason the tombstones feel like a crowded forest of angles.

Around 12,000 tombstones remain visible today. This place is an invitation to quiet respect, and a reminder of Prague’s Jewish continuity across centuries.
