A World of Moss

Saiho-ji (« Kokedera ») is a place where time becomes visible.
Over centuries, moss gradually replaced the original landscape, turning chance into beauty. The pond traces the character , meaning both heart and mind. Before entering, visitors copy a Buddhist sutra by hand, slowing their pace before the garden reveals itself. These photographs seek to preserve that quiet encounter.
